Reflection: This week we started printing our landscapes and finishing up the second phase. So far they have looked amazing. I was the first to finish it and I have had a great week helping people edit their photos. I love doing this work I wish I could do it everyday for my entire life. I am really trying to prefect my craft and I am so glad that I can show my work that I have worked hard to get.
Humanities: Beautiful Photos By Pablo Robin Photo: I think the photo is the most important piece of a beautiful photo because without the high quality photo you cant edit it the way you want you cant print it and make it look good and if the print sucks the epoxy wont help it to much. If the photo is high quality and its a photo that makes you feel something I think thats a good photo. A photo is light everything in it is light. A cool thing that can make a photo beautiful is how the light looks in the photo with shadows and just the positioning of light in your photo. Processing: I think processing is very important because it allows you to make the colors look good. It allows you to also sharpen the image and add or take away the strength of the light in your photo. Processing also helps make a not so good photo look amazing depending on how the processor does it. Processing is the only way you can manipulate the light in a photo without going out and taking better photos. Metallic Paper: Metallic paper is a high quality medium that your photo can be printed on. The way it works with light is that it uses the light shining on it to an advantage. When the light shines on it, it glimmers and shines. The medium also brings out the highlights on the image which can look really beautiful too. Epoxy Coat: The epoxy coat makes the print look like glass is covering the photo which makes the photo look glossier and more professional. The epoxy coat reflects light off of it much like glass does. Chemistry: This week I printed my photo out on metallic paper and coated it in epoxy, It looked amazing. I started my process with choosing my image. I chose the image I thought looked the best and what other people said made them feel good. I chose a slow shutter photo I took of a natural waterfall while in japan. I then had to process the RAW file because the RAW file is a higher resolution than the one on my phone. I used light room to edit it I tried to get the waterfall to be the main component of the image really making the white of the water pop out and I made sure to make the colors subtle. Then when I got the picture perfect for printing, I printed it on 13x19 metallic paper. It already looked amazing but then we got out the epoxy and resin and mixed them 50/50 and made the coating for the photo. We mounted the metallic print on a piece of wood and then we poured the mixture on the piece and spread it around evenly. After that we blow torched it to get bubbles out and we let it dry over night. When it was finished drying it looked amazing. It is one of the proudest pieces of work I have ever done.
